Do you count on respiratory protections at work?

The current administration has shut down the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which certifies that essential personal protective equipment like N95 respirators work. This is extremely dangerous for workers across many industries who count on certified respirators for on-the-job safety every day.

While the administration has reversed a fraction of the cuts, NIOSH won’t be able to function properly until the WHOLE agency is back to work. Critical jobs testing and studying workplace hazards and protections that keep nurses and our patients safe are still slated to be eliminated.

For health care workers, going without certified respirators risks our lives and our patients’ lives – and with infectious diseases like avian flu and measles on the rise, as well as the ongoing impact of Covid-19, this is an urgent situation.

Sharing your experience with N95s and other respirators and personal protective equipment at work will help us advocate for worker safety across the country. Please take our short survey below.
