Join our Community Townhall and Stand with Nurses to Save Hazel Hawkins

On May 23, 2023, the board of directors at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital (HHMH) voted to declare Chapter 9 bankruptcy despite protests from nurses, other health care workers, doctors, and community members.

It is clear that declaring bankruptcy is not about “saving the hospital”. Our community deserves a full-service hospital and we demand transparency about how our taxpayer funds are being used.

Hazel Hawkins is the only hospital in Hollister, a city of 43,000 people, and serves all of San Benito County. Any cuts to services or the hospital’s closure would have a catastrophic impact on the community.

On July 6th, 2023 join Nurses, other health care workers, and allies at an important community townhall to discuss the devastating impacts bankruptcy could have on staff and services at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital.
