I’m calling today to urge you to vote no on the nomination of Russell Vought for Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Vought was a key architect of Project 2025, which proposes gutting the CDC and undermining important public health protections like worker health and safety enforcement. Vought has testified that he supports Trump unlawfully withholding funds appropriated by Congress for critical programs like Medicaid and Medicare, which would have drastic impacts on patient health and safety. We need an OMB Director who is committed to protecting public health and who is dedicated to the millions of people that rely on federal programs and protections. That is not Russell Vought. If confirmed, he will have long-lasting and detrimental impacts on our nation’s health, and I urge you to vote no on his nomination.
