I’m calling today to urge you to vote no on the nomination of Dr. Mehmet Oz as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The CMS Administrator must have a strong & respected track record in health care – Dr. Oz does not. Throughout his career, Dr. Oz has consistently advocated for the complete privatization of Medicare, which would unravel this critical health program. In addition, Dr. Oz has serious conflicts of interest due to his financial ties with private health insurance companies, and he has repeatedly promoted unscientific claims and unfounded conspiracy theories as medical advice. If confirmed, Dr. Mehmet Oz would put the health and safety of millions of patients and health care workers at risk. I urge you to vote no on his nomination.
