We need a national OSHA infectious diseases standard!
I join my voice with National Nurses United and health care workers and patients across the country urging the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to expediently issue a national, enforceable standard to protect health care workers and patients from infectious diseases in health care settings.

Every day, nurses and other health care workers are exposed to infectious diseases while caring for patients without the protections they need. When the Covid-19 pandemic began, there were no national, enforceable standards for infectious disease protections in health care facilities. Health care employers continue to prioritize profits over essential infection control measures that would protect health care workers and their patients.
National, enforceable standards are needed to hold health care employers accountable and protect health care workers and patients from infectious diseases, including Covid-19, measles, influenza, tuberculosis, MRSA, C diff, and more. Join us in calling for the protections that nurses, other health care workers, and patients need to be safe from infectious diseases!
