Voice your support for Cedars-Sinai’s Marina Del Rey Hospital nurses

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic - Cedars-Sinai’s Marina Del Rey Hospital nurses have stood on the front lines to protect and care for our community. We call on Cedars management to live up to its mission and the public statements of its executives and negotiate a contract that will improve the health and safety of patients and nurses alike.

Our community deserves better than for Cedars to say the right thing when advertising or fundraising but behave the opposite when it comes to how nurses and patients are treated. When Cedars executives, like Chief Nursing Officer Anita Girard, say they support nurse advocacy, healthy workplaces, and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives these words must be backed up with action.

To live up to these values, the company and these leaders need to to stop their attack on continuing education, family leave, and sick leave for nurses. They need to meaningfully negotiate over policies to curb workplace violence. They need to end demands to impose a completely subjective compensation scheme known to disadvantage women and people of color.

Our community stands behind the nurses in their pursuit of a contract that promotes the health and safety of nurses and patients and we call on Cedars and its administrators to come to the table prepared to reach an agreement that fulfills these goals.
