Tell UCSF: Protect Patients and Nurses at the Birth Center!

UCSF Mission Bay Nurses in the Birth Center have been fighting for a voice in their department for years. Management is rarely present on the unit: their lack of attention has left nurses with daily unsafe staffing while ignoring basic safety protocols and refusing to be accountable for any issue on the unit. Nurses constantly have to fill these holes in order to care for patients safely.

Birth Center nurses have to fight for resources in order to protect patients while management continues to stall. We are in the process of negotiating with Birth Center management to resolve these outstanding issues but after 4 meetings over almost 1 year – NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Our number one priority is keeping our patients SAFE.
