Urge Congress: Support Safe Staffing for RNs!

We need your help to get this bill passed to improve working conditions for nurses and to protect patients. Take action by urging your elected officials to support this critical legislation.

Frontline nurses, other health care workers, and community members are coming together to advocate for mandatory, minimum, safe, nurse-to-patient ratios in hospitals nationwide!

The Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act (S. 1113, H.R. 2530) would set specific safety limits on the numbers of patients each registered nurse can care for at any one time in hospitals throughout the United States — and it's important that we generate as much support as we can from our lawmakers now.

Unsafe staffing levels have been linked to higher risk of medical errors, complications, and readmissions, as well as higher death rates. And for nurses, it can often contribute to moral distress  and injuries on the job. Across the country, nurses are in crisis, and are often choosing to leave the nursing workforce because of unsafe staffing levels. This crisis is putting our patients at risk.
